Resurrecting our New Detailing shop with Ghostshield Epoxy Max FLOORING

Rolling out the floors of our brand new Q5 Facility, a state of the art detailing hub complete with new Epoxy Max flooring and ready to conquer all kinds of new jobs.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be rolling up the doors to the newest facility on the Q Car Care Headquarters: our custom-built Detailing Facility and the FIFTH building in Burlington.

In the past decade of detailing, we’ve expanded products and services to car lovers all across New England, and this new building is the latest and greatest in our quest to hold all these superior detailing services under one roof. This facility, also known as Q5, renovates an old garage next door, and the buildout for this one needed to be completely custom to be able to renovate the space and accommodate all the detailing, paint protection, and ceramic coatings we need to do there.

We’re aiming for the best of everything in this shop. Whether it’s the best custom-build lighting to illuminate the work we’re doing (and make it even more photogenic than it already is) or air filtration to keep our staff healthy and our cars clean, you can’t build anything until you have a floor that’s up to the task. To repair and renovate an old cracked floor like you see below, it requires a team that has perfected their craft and has the same quality of care that we bring at Q to each and every car we work on.

A custom build on an old floor required a lot from the team at Ghostshield. Before any pouring or spreading of Epoxy occurs, a lot of prep work needed to be done to ensure the finish is up to par. From grinding, dusting, and sanding the floors and meticulously filling cracks to removing oils found in the floor, their team got to work.

With cracks filled and primer applied, the team had sealed off all the appliances and unnecessary surfaces to properly prep for the flooring.

When installing, Ghostshield utilized a primer coat as a moisture vapor barrier to ensure that the gallons of product needed for this flooring would adhere to the surface and not compromise the quality of the flooring. The last thing we’d want is oil wicking up through the floor and coming up to the surface, so this surfacing allows for the facility to remain dry and for their team to take the next step in the process.

It may sound simple, but the more material you put down, the thicker and more premium flooring you get. With any quality product, you get what you pay for.

When it comes to investing for the future, longevity is everything. Our team’s vision is simple, invest in a shop that’s going to allow us to continue to detail cars and provide protection services for a very long time.

The team at Ghostshield got to work last week, and we’re happy to say that the pouring, spreading, and polishing has resulted in a spotless floor that’s the next major step in our quest to open the Q5 Detailing Facility.

The shiny and pristine finished epoxy flooring in the new body shop

Combining a mix of black, white, and a few shining shades of silver and grey, this floor is up to the task we’re about to hand it. We’ve begun to move appliances, doors, and additional fixtures into the building for a finished buildout very soon, but the first cars have entered the shop so work has begun!

The first cars have begun to roll into the Q5 Facility, getting work done in a pristine space while the rest of the shop begins to take form.
