Cybertruck is here, here’s how to protect it.

By Matt Connelly

Years of waiting have paid off - the Cybertruck has finally begun to roll out to the world. Four of the first five Tesla Cybertrucks in New England are coming to Q, so we’ve got a lot to talk about when it comes to protecting this electrifying pickup and its not-so-stainless stainless steel exterior.

This unique steering wheel gives you complete control over the steer-by-wire system.

The story of Q Car Care cannot be fully told without Tesla, as the rise of Tesla has gone hand in hand with our story. In fact, the first car we ever fully wrapped in Paint Protection Film was the original Tesla Roadster. As they’ve grown from their humble Lotus-framed beginnings, we’ve grown alongside them, having incredible experiences with both Tesla directly and their owners over the past decade.

As Boston’s Tesla Experts, we’ve been eagerly waiting for the details of the Cybertruck to best learn how to care for it, even getting an inside look when it was officially unveiled late last year. Having learned from insiders on the full breakdown of the Cybertruck, we’ve got the inside scoop behind the materials, build, and design of the truck and we can safely say there’s never been anything quite like it.

Starting off with its polarizing panels, stainless steel is not the easiest material to care for. Simply put, stainless steel isn’t that stainless. Similar to your fridge at home, it’s a surface that can be a magnet for various stains, textures, and markings, making it really difficult to keep clean and optimize the look of your new Cybertruck. Even further, there are nearly no personalization options standard from Tesla themselves, so we’ve got a few recommendations and options to make your Cybertruck your own and keep it looking its best.

We’re more than just Tesla experts, we’re Tesla owners. This morning we welcomed a Cybertruck of our own into our shop and have begun thinking of all the options we can apply to it. Our new Cybertruck will be our founder Ben’s daily driver, being everything from a fully-utilized truck to a commuter from the North Shore to our new location in Weymouth.

For maintenance and cleanliness reasons, we’re firmly of the belief that all Cybertrucks need to be wrapped in some way, shape, or form. Customization options are nearly nonexistent from Tesla directly, so a wrap of some sort is the easiest way to properly care for it. Not all wraps accomplish the same objectives, as we’ve got Vinyl, Clear PPF, and Color PPF as three separate avenues to add your personal touch to the Cybertruck.

The benefit to having our own in-house Vinyl shop is that we can offer an unlimited number of options when it comes to design. If you want to customize a vinyl and wrap it, we’ve got the tools and the people in place to make that happen. No matter which option you’d like, there are different pricing options nad different protection plans in place to find the perfect fit for you.

The first step for ours is going to be an invisible layer of Xpel Paint Protection Film, followed by some combination of vinyl and a protective layer of Ceramic Pro Coatings - we just don’t know yet what that combination will be. Safe to say we’ve been thinking about this for a while, and anticipate working on a few of these each week.

If you’d like an inside look on a regular basis, we’ll keep you updated on our Instagram and TikTok pages for all things Cybertruck.
